How to Explain Crypto Payment to a Customer Who's Nervous About It

Most fears about paying in crypto dissolve with one short explanation. You don't need to describe the blockchain. Say the same thing you'd say about any bank transfer: "here's the amount, here's where to send it, here's how you'll know it arrived."

What customers worry about

"I don't know anything about crypto." If the customer has a wallet with USDT, they've already done the hard part. All they need is to copy an address and send the right amount. Their wallet handles the rest.

"What if it gets lost?" Explain that the payment page shows the status in real time. The money either arrived or it didn't. There's no third state.

"Is this a scam?" Show them the payment page in advance, or a screenshot: your business logo, the amount, the address, the network. Everything matches what you agreed on.

What to say out loud

The network. This is the critical part: tell the customer exactly which network to use. "USDT on TRC20" is clearer than "USDT." A good payment page shows this large, but an extra reminder in the chat costs nothing.

The exact amount. The customer sends exactly what the page shows, nothing more or less. If their wallet adds a fee on top, they should check the final amount before sending.

What makes the explanation land

A short screen recording from your phone: open the wallet, copy the address, hit send. Two or three steps, no theory. A customer who's seen this once pays without questions.
