These are two different products that happen to share a word. Swaps.app describes itself as an independent fiat on-ramp and off-ramp comparison service — "not an exchange or custodian" — and routes you to licensed card and bank operators who handle verification. SwapSS is the other thing: a coin-to-coin exchange where you send crypto to an address and receive a different crypto back, including Monero, which their catalog does not carry at all. - You want to swap from a hardware or mobile wallet by sending to an address, not by connecting a browser wallet to a dapp flow.

- As of 15 August 2026, no such route exists there: the words "monero" and "XMR" appear zero times across their 3,542 indexable pages and machine-readable export, and their public quote API returned no offers for BTC→XMR when probed the same day. On SwapSS the BTC→XMR direction is live with a real-time quote above.
Is Swaps.app a crypto exchange?
- Their own site says it is not: "Independent comparison platform — not an exchange or custodian" is their self-description. It compares licensed fiat providers and redirects you to them for checkout and identity verification.
Do I need to connect a wallet to swap on SwapSS?
- No. You send coins from any wallet — hardware, mobile, desktop — to the deposit address the order shows, together with the network and exact amount. The wallet-connect requirement is the other product’s flow, not ours.
Which is cheaper?
- They price differently because they sell different things. A card buy through their comparison carries provider processing, spread and service fees — their own control quote reported 5.3% all-in on €200 on the day we checked. A SwapSS quote is the receive amount itself: what you accept is what arrives, and you can compare it against anyone before sending.
