Does the swap require an account or checks?
No. There is no registration, and the amount plus an Ethereum address is enough. Nobody looks into who sent the Bitcoin - only the funds themselves get screened, automatically. A deposit that cannot be cleared is returned to the sender address: you hold its keys, so you hold the money.
