Does moving ETH into USDC require an account or checks?

No. All it takes is the amount and your Ethereum address for the USDC. We do not verify the identity of the person swapping and keep no profiles. Automated screening applies to the deposited funds, and when a deposit cannot be cleared, the ETH goes back to an address the sender controls.

Will the USDC arrive as ERC-20 on the same network?

Yes. The USDC lands as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum mainnet (L1), the same network you send the ETH from. Nothing crosses between blockchains. The receiving address is a standard 0x one; just check that your wallet lists USDC on the Ethereum network.

How long does a same-network swap like this run?

What if the ETH amount I send is not what I entered?

If the swap cannot complete, does the ETH return?
