What to Do If You Entered the Wrong Address

If you haven't sent your coins yet, just start over: create a new swap with the correct address. You enter the address before sending, so double-checking it takes seconds. If the coins are already gone, write to support immediately.
Why does the address matter so much?
A blockchain transaction is irreversible. A wrong address means coins go somewhere you didn't intend. There is no technical way to retrieve them. This is how blockchain networks work, not a quirk of any particular exchange.
What to do if coins were already sent to the wrong address?
Contact support via @swappsy as quickly as possible. Give them the swap ID, the address you entered, and the address you meant to enter. The sooner you write, the better the chances of resolving it. There are no guarantees: if the transaction is already complete, the chances are lower.
How to avoid address mistakes
Always copy addresses using your clipboard, never type them by hand. After pasting, check a few characters at the start and end. Some malware replaces clipboard content, so a quick visual check is worth it. Also confirm you selected the right network: an address can look correct but belong to a different blockchain.
Can you change the address after creating the swap?
No. Once the request is confirmed, the recipient address is locked. If you catch an error, close the current request and create a new one.
